Review: It Should Have Been You by Andrea Mara

This was so good!!! I had a blast!!! SUMMARY: Folks, so much happens in this book. There are so many characters. I will just give a very brief overview, I suppose. Susan: Lives at 26 Oakpark. Has Husband Jon and Baby Bella. Two sisters, Leesa and Greta. Fond of sending gossipy texts. Savannah: Lives at 26 Oakpark....but like a different one. Mostly alone, very mysterious. What happened to her? The story basically revolves around these two...but like also about everyone they have ever met. Most basic outline of events - Susan gets real messy on WhatsApp, which is apparently a thing people use. (Also apparently people still use Snapchat??? I thought that was dead and gone.) People get BIG MAD about this message. Mad enough to straight up want to kill Susan...or, you know, the woman who lives at 26 Oakpark. MANY EVENTS UNFOLD. MY THOUGHTS: I looooove a book with multiple POV characters. Really hits the ADHD itch in my brain. This book is so fast-paced an...

Review: The Thrashers by Julie Soto

Image
This was alright. I should probably give it 4 stars but my heart's not in it. SUMMARY: Jodi is part of the most popular group in her high school: The Thrashers. This Group consists of Zach Thrasher, the group's namesake, Julian, the bad boy, Paige, who is the overachiever super-nice prom queen, and Lucy, who is promiscuous and got assaulted at a party freshman year. Hey why did they do Lucy like that. Why are those her two traits. Why is every other character nuanced and interesting. Jodi is the only one of these characters that is not insane levels of rich. Like these kids got MONEY. Why does Jodi go to the same school as them? This is never addressed. Noted weirdo Emily Mills is desperate to join The Thrashers. Having failed to do so, she commits suicide on prom night. Selfish. How dare she ruin their night??? Soon, The Thrashers become suspects in her death. Is she haunting them? Did they really bully her to death? Is it all a misundersta...

Review: Cosmic Love at the Multiverse Hair Salon by Annie Mare

Image
WOW did I hate this book. Annie Mare please don't look at this, you seem like such a cool person. But my God. Horrible. I had to write a note to myself at like 6% that I would not DNF until at least 15%. By the time I got there, I was like eh maybe I am just being weird. Might as well finish. Folks, if you are not enjoying a book, it is not a failure to stop reading. Life is too short. Read something good. Let's get into it. SUMMARY: Y'all what happened in this book. I guess I will just be short. Hairstylist named Tressa Fay is sitting in Tressa Fay's house with Tressa Fay's cat eating Tressa Fay's soup when Tressa Fay gets a message on Tressa Fay's phone from someone. Turns out that someone is six months in the past. Timey Wimey hijinks ensue, true love prevails, The End. MY THOUGHTS: I hate it here. Why do they say everyone's name constantly? Why does the main character's name have to be Tressa Fay?? I hate the ...

Review: Milktooth by Jaime Burnet

Image
I do not know how I feel about this book. How can this book be defined by star value? I am going to write out my typical review format, and hope that it will help me decide. SUMMARY: Sorcha is in her early 30s. Apparently this is the time all women decide to make stupid decisions in order to have a baby before they become a spinster at 40. Idk man ask me in 7 years. Sorcha's stupid decision is named Chris. Chris sucks, y'all. She is just all the signs of emotional abuse. It is like googling "Signs You Are In A Toxic Relationship." Her name will show up. But she is RICH! And when you are a lesbian who needs to pay to have a child, that is good enough reason to stay with someone. Let it be known that these wild opinions are Sorcha's, not mine. She grew up in an abusive household then jumped straight into abusive relationships. Pour one out for Sorcha folks. And by one I mean a gallon of milk. Anyway, Sorcha gets pregnant first...
